Top Three Reasons to Attend the DBIA Water/Wastewater Conference

by Stephenie Zvonkovich  |  February 17, 2016

The 2016 Design-Build for Water/Wastewater Conference, hosted by DBIA, AWWA, WEF and WDBC, is the only event dedicated to enhancing the use and delivery of design-build in the water and wastewater sector. The event will take place April 20-22, 2016, in the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, N.C.

In addition to networking with over 900 key players and decision-makers here are the top three reasons for joining DBIA and our partners in Charlotte this Spring!

#1: Charlotte’s Got A Lot: According to U.S. News and World Report, April is the BEST time to visit Charlotte, N.C. With average temperatures ranging from 50-70 degrees and an emerging nightlife and entertainment scene, the Queen City is a great place to meet up with colleagues or forge new relationships. Not to mention attendees can visit the U.S. National Whitewater Center which is the world’s largest man-made whitewater river that also offers kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, mountain biking, rock climbing and zip-lining, with plenty of running trails. Check out some of the other amenities our host city has to offer. And if that’s not enough, why not check off some of the items on our Charlotte Must-Do List.

#2: Keynote and General Sessions Feature Design-Build Leaders: This year’s conference will highlight industry experts including Barbara Jackson, Ph.D., DBIA, from the University of Denver, who will address the concept of adaptive intelligence, Barry Gullet, P.E., Director of Charlotte Water, and an owner panel with representatives from Hampton Roads Sanitation District, Charlotte Water, Spartanburg Water and Greenville Utilities. In addition, public agency representatives are featured in nearly all educational sessions.

#3: Earn Your DBIA™ or Assoc. DBIA™ Credential: Earn up to 12.25 CEUs to put toward your DBIA certification or renewal. The conference includes 24 sessions featuring topics on progressive design-build, lessons learned, finance, operations and tips for embarking on design-build for the first time.
